Traditional C/W dance is not the “modified” circular Ballroom style of dance taught at most chain dance studios across the US, “Traditional” C/W dancing has a more straight line progressive style that can be performed to Country music as well as to Pop, Rock, Ballroom, & even EDM music. In this 5 week class you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of 6 of the most popular C/W couple dances performed across the US. Dances to include: Single, Double, & Triple Rhythms of the Texas Two-Step, Three-Step, One-Step, & Country Waltz. Emphasis will be made in proper traditional C/W dance styling, leading and following techniques, dance/music distinction and the development of dance move amalgamations. Beginning through intermediate level moves and twirls will be taught using the "Dance Move building Block" method. Once one pattern is learned, the remaining patterns become easier to learn. Dancers will also have the opportunity to develop and create their own dance moves and amalgamations utilizing the “Dance Move Paradigm” method. Class is designed for the beginning dancer, no experience necessary. Practice dance music and links to YouTube instructional videos will be provided so participants can practice at home in between classes. Video taping of instructor reviewing and teaching new dances and dance moves is permitted. You must register two (2) people for this class to your cart. To do this, add a quantity of 1 to your cart.
