Career Pathways / College Transition
VRABE Regional Adult Based Education often partners with other non-profit organizations to offer specialized educational programming opportunities to adults in the area. There are presently three such programs within the region.
EnglishTransition - Writing Classes
These English as Second Language programs help participants develop their English language and communication skills, build their knowledge of concepts and vocabulary in their field, explore career pathways, and plan for their future. Participants practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing, create a professional portfolio, and develop problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Manufacturing Pipeline Outside Machinist Program at Three Rivers Community College – Are you underemployed or unemployed? Get training that leads to a job at Electric Boat and other eastern Connecticut manufacturers.
- Manufacturing Readiness Program at Goodwin College – A no-cost program (for those who qualify) offered at Goodwin College to prepare students for a career in manufacturing.
- Community Events – VRABE Regional Adult Based Education provides workshops for the community on family-related legal topics, the immigration process, career services and employment opportunities. Exciting workshops are offered throughout the year and are free and open to the public.
- Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford: An opportunity for those interested in a career in the food service industry.
